Frequently Asked Questions

What types of evaluations do you provide?

We provide comprehensive psychological evaluations for children, teens, and adults throughout California and Colorado. Common referral concerns include ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), learning differences such as dyslexia, anxiety, executive functioning difficulties, emotional concerns, school-related challenges, and diagnostic clarification.

Evaluations are individualized based on each client’s specific concerns, history, and goals.

Do you offer virtual evaluations?

Yes. We provide both in-person and virtual services throughout California and virtual services throughout Colorado.

In-person appointments are available in Encino.

What concerns can testing help clarify?

Psychological testing can help clarify concerns related to:

  1. ADHD and executive functioning difficulties
  2. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  3. Learning disabilities and dyslexia
  4. Anxiety, depression, and emotional functioning
  5. Social communication difficulties
  6. Sensory sensitivities
  7. Academic or workplace struggles
  8. Giftedness and twice-exceptionality (2e)
  9. Accommodation needs for school, college, or work
  10. Diagnostic clarification when previous diagnoses or treatment have not fully explained ongoing difficulties

What does the evaluation process look like?

The evaluation process typically includes:

  1. A comprehensive clinical interview
  2. Review of records and background history
  3. Standardized testing
  4. Rating scales and questionnaires
  5. Collaboration with parents, teachers, therapists, psychiatrists, or other providers when appropriate
  6. A detailed written report with findings and recommendations
  7. A feedback session to review results and answer questions

Testing is tailored to the individual and may occur over one or multiple appointments.

How long does the evaluation process take?

The timeline varies depending on the complexity of the referral questions and scheduling availability. In general, the process from intake to final feedback session may take several weeks.

A more specific timeline will be discussed during the consultation process.

Do you provide accommodations documentation?

Yes. When clinically appropriate, evaluations may include recommendations and documentation for accommodations related to:

  1. School and IEP/504 planning
  2. College disability services
  3. Standardized testing accommodations
  4. Workplace accommodations

Do you diagnose Autism Spectrum Disorder in adults?

Yes. we provide autism evaluations for adults, including individuals who may have gone undiagnosed earlier in life.

Many adults seeking evaluation are thoughtful, high-functioning individuals who have spent years wondering why social interactions, sensory experiences, executive functioning, or daily life demands feel more difficult than expected.

The goal of the evaluation process is not simply to assign a diagnosis, but to provide clarity, understanding, and practical recommendations.

Can someone have both ADHD and Autism?

Yes. ADHD and Autism frequently co-occur, and many individuals experience overlapping traits related to attention, executive functioning, sensory processing, social communication, and emotional regulation.

A comprehensive evaluation can help clarify how these patterns interact and whether one or both diagnoses may be appropriate.

What if I am not sure whether testing is needed?

That is very common. Many individuals and families seek testing because something has felt difficult for a long time, even if they are not certain why.

We can help determine whether a comprehensive evaluation would likely be beneficial based on the concerns being experienced.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We currently accept Aetna, Medicare, Optum, and Cigna.

Coverage and authorization requirements may vary depending on your specific plan and the type of evaluation being requested. Please contact your insurance provider to verify your benefits and coverage for psychological testing services.

While I do work with select insurance plans, many clients choose to pursue services on a private-pay basis for greater flexibility, privacy, and individualized care. Private-pay options are available for all evaluation services.

Superbills can also be provided upon request for clients seeking possible out-of-network reimbursement through their insurance provider. Reimbursement is not guaranteed and varies by plan.

What are your fees?

Evaluation fees vary depending on the type and complexity of the assessment.

Comprehensive evaluations generally range from approximately $2,700–$4,500 and include testing, scoring, interpretation, a comprehensive written report, and a feedback session.

Specific fee information will be discussed during the consultation process.
